Our vision is and has always been evangelizing the world.
Habakkuk 2 : 1 -4
Go into all the world and preach the gospel of the Kingdom. -Mark 16:15
Sometimes this is done through media, TV, radio, internet, or printed materials. Sometimes it is through mission trips at home and abroad (where many receive their fire for the gospel). Our vision is to see millions come to the Lord Jesus Christ. Liberty Ministries Church International (LMCI) is the base to begin the gospel to Jerusalem (our neighbor), Judeae, Samaria (our nation), and to the uttermost parts of the earth. Acts 1-8 states our vision
This is to our people, and to the entire world. Jesus saved us and empowered us to witness, and to bless others with the same message that touched our lives. Every gospel effort begins with the home church. The mission of the church is to disciple believers. (Matthew 28: 18-20)
Sound doctrine comes through teaching the word of God. Teaching people develops their gifts that are to be used for the glory of God. (Ephesians 4:7-8)
Five fold ministry gifts: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors, and Teachers are the vehicles God uses to mature the saints for the work of the ministry. (Ephesians 4: 12-14)
Our vision is salvation for lost souls. Our mission is to heal the sick and cast out devils by delegated kingdom authority; and to see the Holy Ghost poured out as promised. (Mark 16: 15-18)
Our mission is to have a church training center and carry out the Great Comission. Our mission is to teach and train. New converts are trained in Sunday School, School of the Bible, and by regular church attendance.
Our church is currently involved with Prison Ministries, Foreign & Home Ministries, Prayer Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry, Founding and Building Churches out of the USA, Women’s Helps Ministry, Men’s Help Ministry, Children’s Ministries (Children’s Church and Kid’s Club), Radio Ministry (Woman of God), School of the Bible (LMSB), Ministry to the poor home and abroad, Training of Ministers, Sunday Morning, Sunday Night and Wednesday Night Worship Services.
HISTORY OF LIBERTY MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
Founded by Roy E. Porter and Jeanette Porter in 1982 under the instructions of the Holy Spirit as Liberty Ministries Inc. The Scripture given to them was II Corinthians 3:17 “…and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. We registered as a Non-Profit in 1984.
Roy was saved at the age of 16, and his wife Jeanette, was saved at the age of 5. Both received their salvation at Grove Station Baptist Church in Piedmont SC during revivals.
Roy received his call to preach in 1975 in the middle of a crusade at Greenville Memorial Auditorium, and Jeanette received her calling confirmed, December 31, 1987 at 10pm in an all night prayer meeting at Faith Assembly of God, Greenville SC.
Already ministering in any capacity they could, Roy and Jeanette worked in deliverance ministry at WGGS- the local Christian TV station, in prison services- local and federal, and ventured into migrant camps to minister to the Spanish speaking migrant workers; while holding revivals and crusades in churches and tents, and on the streets.
In 1986 they went on their first missionary trip to the Dominican Republic and fell in love with the people there. They soon became associated with missionaries and the local people which helped them in the forming of “Ministerio Christiano de Liberation” and became a Non-Profit in the Dominican Republic in the year 2000 with two churches under this association. Of the two churches, Missionary Mitchell Martinez, heads up LaVaga School of the Bible. The other is an active Church in a poor village in LaCulata, San Juan de la Maguana. Other countries in which Roy and Jeanette have ministered are England, Wales, Cuba, and Israel, and are still waiting to see where God leads them next.
Formal education of Roy and Jeanette in ministry is: Berean College and School of the Bible; and continuing education throughout the years in conferences on ministry, private studies, and other sources.
Liberty Ministries first started as an Evangelistic ministry. In 1989 an inner-city mission in downtown Greenville, SC was formed where street people were fed and received ministry. later, in 1991, Liberty Ministries Church was formed; and officially dedicated on February 7, 1993 in a rented portion of a local Church where Roy and Jeanette became Pastors of said Church. We moved three times more before we built and moved into the first phase of Liberty Ministries Church buildings located at 3006 Old Easley Bridge Road, Greenville SC where Roy and Jeanette became known as Senior Pastors of the organization. Because of our works here and abroad, we are now known as Liberty Ministries International.
One of the newest additions of this ministry is Liberty Ministries School of the Bible, better known as LMSB started in May of 2005.
Any and all phases were and are established under the leadership of the Holy Spirit and for the glory of God. Our goal is to train laborers into God’s harvest.
